I’m Living With The Fear That Any Day Could Be My Husband’s Last

When I married the love of my life, I thought we had forever. We laughed, we fought, we built dreams together… and then we had our greatest blessing — our baby boy. He was the kind of man who made life feel safe. He worked hard in office, came home with a smile no matter how tired he was, and still found time to read bedtime stories to our son. We had no idea that in one day, everything could break.

It was July 18, 2024. He came home pale, his steps slow, his face tired. I thought it was overwork. But the blood test said otherwise — his hemoglobin was just 5.8. We rushed to the doctor. More tests followed. Then came the biopsy… and the words that still ring in my ears: “Your husband has MDS — a deadly blood disease. Without a bone marrow transplant, he will not survive.”

He Was Just 35. Our Son Was Only 5

The doctors tried everything — expensive injections every few weeks, each costing ₹20,000 to ₹1,00,000. For a year, we fought, spending every rupee of our savings, using up his office insurance, taking loans. We thought we could save him. But nothing worked.

Now, His Life Depends Entirely On Blood Transfusions

Two units every single week. His body has already endured 40 transfusions. The doctors warn us we are running out of time — transfusions are no longer enough. His only chance is a bone marrow transplant. The donor will be my own sister-in-law. But the cost? ₹18 lakhs. Money we simply do not have.

He Was Our Only Earning Member

Even when sick, he kept working from home so we could survive. But last month, his body gave up. Now, we can’t even afford rent, school fees, or our daily meals. I stay home caring for our son, while my brother stays with my husband in the hospital. Our little boy doesn’t understand much, but on video call, he asks: “Papa, will you come home tomorrow?” I don't know what to tell him. I can’t imagine telling my son his papa is never coming home.

Please, Help Us

This is not just about saving my husband’s life. It’s about saving a father for his son, a husband for his wife, a son for his parents. Please help me bring my husband back home.
