“When my nephew was little, he would look at me in my CISF uniform and say, ‘Chacha, one day I will serve the country like you.’ I believed him. He was strong, disciplined, and always among the top in his studies. But today, that same boy cannot even walk a few steps without feeling tired. He spends his days lying in a hospital bed, fighting blood cancer. I never imagined I would see him like this.” — Bhagat Singh, uncle
Bhagat’s 16-year-old nephew had his entire future mapped out. His dream was to join the Indian forces, but those dreams came crashing down two months ago. What began as severe jaundice turned into a nightmare when doctors discovered he had blood cancer. Since then, he has been suffering and living a life different than he had imagined.

‘He cannot even eat properly, or even sit up anymore’
Once full of life and ambition, he now spends most of his days lying in bed, drained of energy. He does not have an appetite and even sitting up for a few minutes leaves him breathless and exhausted. The boy who once trained hard for his dream of joining the Indian forces now can’t even walk to the courtyard without support. He was in 12th and excited to complete his studies but now his books lie untouched, gathering dust, as his studies have come to a complete halt.
“He tells me, ‘Chacha, I feel tired all the time. I just want to get better and go back to school.’ I can see in his eyes how much he misses the life he had. It breaks my heart because his elder brother is ready to donate his bone marrow — the match we desperately need — but we cannot afford the transplant that will save him. Every day without it feels like we are losing precious time.” — Bhagat Singh
‘We are desperate for help’
The boy’s parents, Ram Suresh and Raj Mani, are shattered. His father’s small farming income was never enough to make life easy, but now every rupee is stretched beyond its limit. His mother stays by his side in the hospital, unable to think about anything except keeping her son alive. Bhagat has already spent four lakh rupees from borrowed money and helped as much as he can. There is no land to sell, no jewellery left, and no steady income to cover the mounting bills. Each passing day brings new medical expenses, and the fear of running out of options is crushing them.
“I wore my uniform with pride, and I always believed my nephew would do the same one day. Now, all I want is to see him healthy again. Please help us. Please save his life.” — Bhagat Singh, tearfully
