"I Serve As A Humble Granthi (Priest) At The Gurudwara And I Am Struggling To Save My 2-Year-Old Daughter"

As a lifelong servant of God, I've dedicated my life as a priest, offering prayers and blessings to others. Today, however, I find myself in the humbling position of needing a miracle. My 2-year-old daughter is battling cancer and me and my spouse Savita Kaur are struggling to make ends meet, trying to do everything in our power to save our daughter.

Everything Changed Overnight When Our Daughter Experienced Sudden Abdomen Pain

Our 2-year old was playing when she experienced excruciating pain in her abdomen, so much so that we immediately had to rush her to the hospital. Little did we know that our life is going to take a dark turn. What seemed as a minor stomach ache turned out to be our biggest nightmare, our daughter was diagnosed with liver cancer. Our world was shattered in that instant. The road ahead was filled with uncertainty and fear, as the treatment required a staggering 20 lakhs—a financial burden that seemed insurmountable.

“It’s getting more and more difficult with every passing day. Her health is getting worse. She wakes up in the middle of the night, in pain. We want to take her back home, and be a happy family again. The chemo is her only treatment but where will I get the money to continue the treatment?” - Savita Kaur, mother.

A Desperate Bid To Save Her From Cancer, But It's Not Enough

Sohan and his wife Savita, a homemaker, are in a constant fight against time and circumstances. Their daughter's battle with liver cancer has drained their entire savings leaving them with a staggering debt of Rs. 11,00,000. In the next few days, we need Rs. 20,00,000 more for further treatment. As a priest, I barely earn 6000 rupees a month, performing poojas and prayers. We sold our family land, our jewellery, and took loans, but it’s still not enough.

We Have Sold Whatever We Had And My Earning Are Not Enough To Get Her Treated

Between saving my daughter from the life-threatening illness and caring for our older child, who is still in UKG, both me and my wife have been pushed to our limits- emotionally and financially. It's a constant struggle to manage her treatment while trying to make our ends meet. Our family is torn apart, with my wife balancing the needs of one child while worrying endlessly for the other.

Despite Our Sorrows We Are Positive And Are Determined To Fight

Despite the challenges we are facing, our family has remained steadfast in our faith. We believe that with hope and determination, we can overcome this adversity. The treatment offers a glimmer of hope, a ray of light in the darkness. It is our chance to fight back against the disease and give our little daughter the future she deserves.

A Prayer For Help

I am a priest, but I am also a father, and right now, I feel powerless. We are reaching out for your support. Your generous donations could make a tangible difference in our daughter's life. Every contribution, no matter how small it is, brings her one step closer to saving her. So let us all come together as a community and support this brave young fighter and her family.

You stepped up and helped them at the right time

That is when you came to her aid. Many of you stepped forward to help her in her time of need with your generosity and compassion. With your support, this kid can now undergo her treatment. and the family is grateful for all the support she has received and to all the donors who made this possible.

Unfortunately, she is not an isolated case. There are millions of children like her who need urgent help. They are suffering from deadly diseases that are claiming their lives, and writhing in pain every minute of every day. In many of these cases, treatment is delayed due to the inability to arrange funds on time, which in turn exacerbates their condition and puts them in life-threatening situations. You can help avoid these complications, by donating to the Milaap Kids Cancer Fund giving hope and a fighting chance to those who need it most.
